Progress Note #3

Words as of last post: 1,246

*sighhhhhh* So much for 20,000 words, let alone 50,000. I haven't written anything new in four days! Ugh, if I want to break even 10,000 words, I'd probably have to drop out of school! I've got too much to do to work on this novel. Plus I've been at Kollision Con all weekend. Sue me. (Please don't sue me; I'm poor enough as it is.)

I don't want to give up, though. I still have two weeks, right? I can get in at least 5,000 before the end of the month. I think.

It's a bit of a drag in the beginning. I've barely started chapter one! But I'll forge ahead as best I can.

NaNoWriMo 2013! Whoo!

I've decided to try my hand at NaNoWriMo again! I'm feeling good about it this year. So what if I started six days late? This year's project is currently called Shreds, and this is my latest synopsis:

Séraphine Moreau has fallen on hard times. Her mother, the famed designer Annette Moreau, has become extremely ill, and the doctors aren't sure how long she has. This has led to a steady decline in business, and Séraphine, not yet old enough to work, is unsure how she and her siblings will survive.

When a beacon of hope comes their way, Séraphine is overjoyed. It seems like life is good again.

But that changes one night, when a bloody, disheveled girl collapses at her doorstep with no memory of who she is. Disturbed but wanting to help, Seraphine takes the girl in. She understands "Misty" to be an innocent girl who hasn't done anyone wrong.

So why do death threats suddenly start piling up, accusing Misty of being a vampire?

It's my best work so far. I've only started the prologue, but I hope I can bring myself to write at least 20,000 words before this is over. Wish me luck!
